Megan Wren is a performer inspired by heartfelt lyrics and good old-fashioned rock 'n' roll. Like her spiritual parents Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney, Megan and her full band give you classic rock energy for the current day.
The band's debut 6-song EP, Sympathetic Vibrations (2018), provided an inside look into the heart, mind, and soul of the poetic lead singer, guitar player, and songwriter that is Megan Wren. Megan believes that one of music's most important qualities is its ability to resonate with people of all backgrounds and experiences, and hence named the EP as a metaphor for that shared resonance.
Growing up in Cincinnati, Megan began performing covers of her favorite songs around town at the age of eleven. She spent her teenage years working at the local music store, Buddy Roger's, and growing as a singer and musician. She was also developing an interest in audio engineering and music production, which would lead her to pursue a degree in music production at Ohio University in Athens, OH. There she met producer Eddie Ashworth, and began working with musicians Charlie Andrews (drums/Cincinnati/owner of Cincinnati's newest drum shop, Badges), Billy Zehnal (bass/Columbus), and Seth Canan (lead guitar/Dayton) to record the EP.
The current band lineup features Megan, Charlie, and Ryan Shephard (also of Cincinnati band Freak Mythology). They are currently booking summer shows around the Midwest.
